I’m Josh, and I’m a proud member of a community of people who have decided that easy will no longer suffice.

But before that…

As a youngster I was a soccer player and by the age of 11, I was playing ‘A grade’ for the Brisbane Lions. At the age of 17 I discovered the benefits of vigorous physical activity. I joined a gym and was soon enjoying a resistance training regime seeing improvements to both my body and my state of mind.

After finishing college in Melbourne, I moved to Brisbane and took on a range of physically demanding jobs; all of which fostered my interest in developing strength, stamina and endurance. This led to an exloration of all aspects of health and fitness, including nutrition and its relationship to physical activity. In 2005, I became a personal coach completing my Certificate 3 and 4 in fitness and officially began my fitness career.

I was doing CrossFit long before I even knew what CrossFit was. I quickly grew tired of bicep curls and triceps extensions and was hungry for something more. They say seek and you shall find, and I was searching for something better, something functional, challenging, and fun; at which point I found it. I found my home with CrossFit. My first WOD (workout of the day) was a benchmark ‘girl’ called Fran, and boy did she smash me! As coach says, “Anything that leaves you flat on your back wondering what just happened deserves a girl’s name,” and I’ve been addicted ever since.

As my CrossFit addiction grew so did my desire to share my passion for health and fitness with others; this led me to owning my own studio. Without Crossfit I don’t think I would have ventured into owning a ‘Box’. It gave me the means and purpose to start, and be an integral part of, something truly special – The community I have the opportunity to impact. Knowing that I have the chance to positively impact my athletes’ lives on a daily basis is something I am very grateful for. There is no feeling in the world that compares to helping someone achieve something they did not even know they could do. This is why I proudly stand by the commitment that is our ‘promise to new athletes.’¬†

We take great pride in the fact that every morning we wake up we have the privilege of coaching you; helping you to become the fittest, strongest version of yourself that you can be.

Our promise to you is this: We will listen, learn, teach and strive to be the best coaches that we can be. In the relentless pursuit to deliver you with the best service and training out there – we will continuously aim to take your health and wellbeing to levels that you did not imagine possible.

People often ask me what CrossFit achievement I’m most proud of (expecting me to espouse an impressive Fran time or my max squat), but I can say that the answer is this: Never giving up during a CrossFit workout; all of the other achievements are secondary to this, because when you know that quitting is not an option – quitting in no longer an option.

Train smart; train hard and have a shit ton of FUN.
